How a lip flip works
The muscle that circles your mouth pulls the upper lip down and inward when you smile or speak. A few units placed along the top of that muscle relax it just enough that the lip rolls outward instead of tucking under. More of the pink of your lip becomes visible. Nothing has been added, the lip has simply stopped hiding itself.
