Why a gummy smile happens
It is almost never about your gums. In most cases the muscles that lift the upper lip are simply stronger or shorter than average, so when you smile the lip travels further up than it needs to and exposes the gum line above your teeth. It is a muscle behaviour, which is exactly why a neuromodulator can change it.
